Aims & Objectives

SCEE: Founding Siberian Centre of European Education — is a joint project developed by a consortium of 5 European and 4 Russian universities from the Eastern part of Russia under the framework of Erasmus Mundus, Action 3 «Promotion of European higher education» program.

Main objectives:

• Creating a specialized information platform and database to represent interests of EU partner universities in the Siberian Federal District;

• Organization of awareness-raising activities aimed at promotion of European education (European education days, education fairs, awareness-raising seminars, conferences on problems of international cooperation in education, etc.);

• Increasing the number of joint educational programs with Russian universities to stimulate a growth of inflow of students into EU universities as well as to provide EU students with additional opportunities of studying outside the EU (international internships, summer schools, etc.);

• Preparing a set of normative documents regulating recognition of study periods and education certificates among the universities, members of the consortium, which will lead to an increased academic mobility among the universities of the EU and the Siberian Federal District;

• Developing educational internet projects with universities of the Russian Federation to permit implementing ready-made courses of study in universities of the Siberian Federal District at a minimum cost;

• Enhancing research contacts among academics of the EU countries and Russia to combine efforts of academics of Siberian Federal District of Russia and the EU in solving current research problems;

• Preparing new promotion and educational projects in a trilateral format with the EU, the Russian Federation and the Asia-Pacific Region to enable the spread of experience outside Russia, in the countries of the Asia-Pacific Region;

• Stimulating an increase of the number of Russian university graduates completing double degree programs, having EU education and high language proficiency as well as in-depth knowledge of European culture aimed at creating necessary human resources for European companies to invest on Russian market in light of a recent adhesion of Russia to the WTO.
