European Education Days Khabarovsk

On June 17-20th, 2014 Pacific National University (Khabarovsk, Russia) hosted the third session of the European Education Days and European Education Workshop in the framework of the ERASMUS MUNDUS ACTION 3 project “Founding the Siberian Center of European Education”.

At the conference the representatives of the consortium members from partner universities discussed some issues of international cooperation between the universities and presented the results of the project “Founding the Siberian Center of European Education”.

The conference was opened by First Vice-President for Strategic Development and International Cooperation of PNU Professor Alexander Zubarev who welcomed all the participants of the international conference. Then, the First Vice-President of PNU Professor Sergei Shalabanov took the floor. He stressed the importance of cooperation with European universities and wished success to all the participants.

 Vice-President for International Relations of the University of Montpellier 2 (Montpellier, France) François Henn could not attend the conference but he was able to address the audience via Skype. He welcomed the members of the project consortium and wished everyone successful and fruitful work.

 After a short break, there were presentations of foreign partner universities who have been participating in the project for the past 4 years. The representatives of Adam Mickiewicz University (Poznan, Poland) Vice-Rector for International Affairs Tomasz Branka,project managers Tomasz Kollat and Bozena Malinovskaja told the students about educational opportunities of their university. Then the director of the Center of Distance Learning and Continuing Education from Warsaw School of Economics Piotr Boltuc took the word. He spoke about the
development of on-line courses in cooperation with Russian universities and the prospects of the future project implementation. Among other partner universities there were the representatives of the University of Genova (Italy), Ural State University of Economics (Russia) and Baikal National University of Economics and Law (Russia).

On behalf of the University of Montpellier 2 Véronique Montero and Irina Kozhinasummed up the results of the meeting and expressed their wish and hope for further development of warm and friendly relations between the universities involved in the project. 

In frames of European Education Workshop the universities invited the audience to watch the video filmed by their students. PNU students were given the opportunity to talk with the representatives of foreign universities and ask them questions concerning the details of academic mobility. The third session of the European Education Days successfully promoted the educational programmes in Europe and understanding between people and cultures.
